February 26, 1979: Khomeini

Khomeini, the Ayatollah to Iran, finally returned to his country today, after 15 years of exile. The people swept to him. The government, however, intervened. 'I will not allow the country to be governed by any force other than legitimate authority,' said Prime Minister Shahpur Bakhtiar.

March 31, 1979: Carter Rocked!

Egypt and Israel, after many years of fighting, finally grew together and signed a peace treaty today. This agreement took months to negotiate and diplomats worked past midnight on the day it was signed to finalize the language.

March 31, 1979: 3 Mile Island
The worst nuclear accident in U.S. history occurred today at the Three Mile Island nuclear plant in Pennsylvania. An evacuation of pregnant women and children was advised for a 5-mile radius of the plant. Anit-nuclear protests will be held April 1st, 1979 in response to this accident.

July 25, 1979

November 26, 1979: US Embassy in Iran Siezed

After a public condemnation of President Carter by Ayatollah Khomeini, the U.S. embassy in Iran was seized by rebelling Iranians. The Knack---My Sharona
Ost. Reality Bites

Ooh my little pretty one, pretty one.
When you gonna give me some time, Sharona?
Ooh you make my motor run, my motor run.
Gun it comin' off the line Sharona
Never gonna stop, give it up.
Such a dirty mind. Always get it up for the touch
of the younger kind. My my my i yi woo. M M M My Sharona...

Come a little closer huh, ah will ya huh.
Close enough to look in my eyes, Sharona.
Keeping it a mystery gets to me
Running down the length of my thighs, Sharona
Never gonna stop, give it up. Such a dirty mind.
Always get it up for the touch
of the younger kind. My my my i yi woo. M M M My Sharona...

When you gonna give it to me, give it to me.
It is just a matter of time Sharona
Is it just destiny, destiny?
Or is it just a game in my mind, Sharona?
Never gonna stop, give it up.
Such a dirty mind. Always get it up for the touch
of the younger kind. My my my i yi woo. M M M My Sharona...

Ahh, freak out! Le Freak, c'est Chic, freak out!

Have you heard about the new dance craze?
Listen to us, I'm sure you'll be amazed.
Big fun to be had by everyone, it's up to you, it surely can be done.
Young and old are doing it, I'm told,
Just one try, and you too will be sold.
It's called Le Freak! They're doing it night and day,
Allow us, we'll show you the way.

Chorus

All that pressure got you down, has your head spinning all around,
Feel the rhythm, chant the rhyme, come on along and have a real good time.
Like the days of stomping at the Savoy, now we freak, oh what a joy,
Just come on down, to the 54, find a spot out on the floor.

Chorus

Now Freak! I said Freak! Now Freak!
All that pressure got you down, has your head spinning all around,
Feel the rhythm, check the ride, come on along and have a real good time.
Like the days of stopping at the Savoy, now we freak, oh what a joy,
Just come on down, to 54, find a spot out on the floor.

Chorus

3. Do Ya Think I'm Sexy? - Rod Stewart
Sugar
Sugar
mmm ... ooh

She sits alone waiting for suggestions
He's so nervous avoiding all her questions
His lips are dry, her heart is gently pounding
Don't you just know exactly what they're thinking?

If you want my body and you think I'm sexy
Come on, sugar, let me know
If you really need me just reach out and touch me
Come on, honey, tell me so

He's acting shy looking for an answer
Come on, honey, let's spend the night together
Now hold on a minute before we go much further
Give me a dime so I can phone my mother
They catch a cab to his high rise apartment
At last he can tell her exactly what his heart meant

If you want my body and you think I'm sexy
Come on, sugar, let me know
If you really need me just reach out and touch me
Come on, honey, tell me so

His heart's beating like a drum
'Cause at last he's got his girl home
Relax, baby, now we are alone

[break]

They wake at dawn 'cause all the birds are singing
Two total strangers but that ain't what they're thinking
Outside it's cold, misty and it's raining
They got each other, neither one's complaining
He say's I'm sorry but I'm out of milk and coffee
Never mind, sugar, we can watch the early movie

If you want my body and you think I'm sexy
Come on, sugar, let me know
If you really need me just reach out and touch me
Come on, honey, tell me so
Tell me so, baby

4. Bad Girls - Donna Summer
Bad girls
Talking about the sad girls
Sad girls
Talking about bad girls, yeah

See them out on the street at night, walkin'
Picking up on all kinds of strangers
If the price is right
You can't score if you're pocket's tight
But you want a good time
You ask yourself who they are
Like everybody else
They come from near and far
Bad girls, yeah

Bad girls
Talking about the sad girls, yeah
Sad girls
Talking about bad girls, yeah

Friday night and the strip is hot
Sun's gone down and they're out to trot
Spirit's high and legs look hot
Do you wanna get down
Now don't you ask yourself who they are
Like everybody else, they wanna be a star

Bad girl
Sad girl, you're such a naughty bad girl
Beep-Beep, uh-uh
You bad girl you sad girl
Your such a dirty bad girl
Beep-Beep, uh-uh

Now you and me we're both the same
But you call yourself by different names
Now your mama won't like it when she finds out
That her girl is out at night

Hey, Mister, have you got a dime
Mister, do you want to spent some time
Oh, yeah
I got what you want, you got what I need
I'll be your baby, come and spend it on me
Hey, Mister
I'll spend some time with you

5. YMCA - the Village People
Young Man
There's no need to feel down,
I said, Young Man
Get yourself off the ground,
I said, Young Man
'Cause you're in a new town
There's no need to be un-happy..

Young Man
There's a place you can go,
I said, Young Man
When you're short on your dough,
You can stay there
And I'm sure you will find,
Many ways to have a good time..

It's fun to stay at the YMCA,
It's fun to stay at the YMCA.
They have everything for young men to enjoy,
You can hang out with all the boys..

It's fun to stay at the YMCA,
It's fun to stay at the YMCA.
You can get yourself clean,
You can have a good meal,
You can do whatever you feel..

Young Man - Are you listening to me?
I said, Young Man,
What do you wanna' be?
I said, Young Man
You can make real your dreams,
But you've got to know this one thing:

No man,
Does it all by himself,
I said, Young Man
Put your pride on the shelf,
And just go there -
To the YMCA,
I'm sure they can help you today..

It's fun to stay at the YMCA,
It's fun to stay at the YMCA.
They have everything for young men to enjoy,
You can hang out with all the boys..

It's fun to stay at the YMCA,
It's fun to stay at the YMCA
You can get yourself clean,
You can have a good meal,
You can do whatever you feel..

Young Man,
I was once in your shoes,
I said, I was -
Down and out with the blues,
I felt no man cared that I were alive,
I felt the whole world was so tired.

That's when,
Someone came up to me,
And said, Young Man
Take a walk up the street,
It's a place there -
Called the YMCA,
They can start you back on your way..

It's fun to stay at the YMCA,
It's fun to stay at the YMCA.
They have everything for young men to enjoy,
You can hang out with all the boys..

YMCA,
It's fun to stay at the
YMCA..

Young Man, Young Man
There's no need to feel down,
Young Man, Young Man
Pick yourself off the ground..

YMCA
And just go to the -
YMCA

Young Man, Young Man
I was once in your shoes
Young Man, Young Man
I was down with the blues..
